Arapahoe Ridge High School provides a distinctive learning experience that produces talented graduates with
the knowledge and skills essential for lifelong learning. Our alternative high
school specializes in serving students who are identified as over-aged and
under-credit with opportunities for concurrent enrollment with Front Range
Community College. Students may earn 100 credits per school year through the
school district’s Guaranteed Viable Curriculum. Arapahoe Campus implements
standards-based grading and instruction and utilizes Positive Behavioral
Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Justice to foster positive
student behavior.
Engage Academy is an alternative program which compliments the offerings
overseen by Arapahoe Ridge Hgh School Administration. Engage Academy strives to assist
students challenged with traditional educational settings to find a place where
they can engage in their educational path and emerge post-secondary career and
college ready.
Arapahoe High School is unique in a variety ways. It
is a highly personalized, high school that is designed to meet the needs of all
students but places a special emphasis on students who require a
student-friendly environment and an instructional approach based on learning
style in order to succeed. Through a variety of options, students receive a
Boulder Valley diploma while meeting educational goals.
Classes are based on the quarter system as opposed to
the traditional semester system, and students are able
to accumulate credits at a faster rate. This system allows students to
accelerate the number of credits earned during a year, while only having to
focus on five content areas at a time, which results in a higher degree of
concentration within a subject area.
