Broomfield High School is a comprehensive high school which has a wide variety of offerings including honors and Advanced Placement courses in many disciplines, fine arts courses, and vocationally focused courses.
Each year we continue to increase advanced offerings to challenge our students. Many students take advantage of our advanced and AP courses to increase their academic knowledge. Sixteen different AP courses were offered to our students during 2014-2015. In addition to our AP program, we offered a wide variety of courses in core and elective areas.
The Special Education Department is an integral part of our school. We have a variety of services for our students. Our multi-intensive program successfully integrates our students into school and community life.
Our ESL program began in 2004, making it possible for second language learners to stay in their community for their high school education. With the support of staff and peers, these students have continued to work on English acquisition while being involved in academics and co-curricular activities.
Tutor time is an essential part of our school program. Every Thursday, teachers are available for students during the school day to get support and extra help on academic work. We have also created Eagle Learning Center, an after school program to support students with academic needs in the comfortable environment of our Media Center. Freshman Seminar is a program we have implemented to work on transition skills, academic study skills, social skills, and building relationships with adults in our building. Our freshman students have this dedicated time to work with teachers and upper-class students in a more relaxed atmosphere.
