About Our School:
About Our School
Louisville Middle School is an extraordinary, dynamic environment where students and staff partner to create a true community of learners. The House of PRIDE sets high academic standards for all students, following the core belief that everyone should have the opportunity to be challenged and to grow. Students share a common and strong sense of community as they strive to achieve high academic standards, explore their creative and artistic potential, and challenge themselves to develop physical fitness habits for life. Our parents collaborate with staff to ensure a caring, engaging and nurturing environment where everyone is welcomed and encouraged to flourish. Louisville Middle School is known for its diverse academic offerings, with both advanced and academic support courses, as well as a robust extracurricular program of athletics, academic and interest-based clubs. Louisville Middle School PRIDE (positivity, respect, integrity, determination, empathy) exemplifies a unique and vibrant small-town neighborhood setting, while continuing a strong tradition of excellence.

Principals Message:
Principal Message
Louisville Middle School (LMS, aka the House of PRIDE)
is a vibrant, neighborhood school that promotes academic excellence for all
students with an academic emphasis on Pre-AP strategies and curriculum. Our
wide variety of programming choices provides every student with the level of
challenge necessary to support his/her personal journey toward academic
excellence. Our mission is to nurture a culture where students are valued as
individuals and allowed to explore their creative talents. We believe that
positive self-concept is benefitted through academic success and it is our goal
to raise the bar for all students so they go forward with the skills and
confidence to be successful in our highly competitive society.
The LMS
focus is to “show PRIDE in everything we do” in order to raise the achievement
for all learners and help them on their way toward being New Century Graduates.
We work hard to close the gap between our highest and lowest performing
students. We do this by offering highly challenging advanced classes through
language arts, social studies, math and science while also providing extra
support in reading, writing, math, and study skills. These support classes are
offered with a smaller teacher/student ratio. For students achieving at or near
advanced levels, we offer a Talented and Gifted (TaG) Program and a wide variety
of advanced course offerings. We have added Smart technology to all of our
classes, linking the 21st century instructional delivery with innovative
multi-sensory curriculum, such as, ALEKS and IXL math programs, on-line texts,
Make Music and library reference. Led by our award-winning Student Services
department, LMS has created a culture where students feel safe and problems are
addressed immediately and appropriately.
Parents are an essential
element in the success of students and the school community, as a well. Our
parents provide positive direction and critical feedback for the school
improvement process. LMS parents promote student learning, act as Parent
Mentors and Greeters, volunteer countless hours, and provide financial support
for building programs.
Louisville Middle is fortunate to have a modern
building that supports our innovative programming. The House of PRIDE completed
a 16 million dollar remodel, as part of the B.V.S.D. Bond Project. This
B.V.S.D. Capital Improvement Project includes a new fine arts wing, technology
center, applied technology lab, ESL classes, orchestra, band and choir
classrooms, plus a 21st century auditorium. We have a new student center,
administration and counseling offices, as well as remodeled science, special
education, and math classrooms.
